Thankful for the students of Owen High in the Serve to Lead Club who inspired our school community to collect personal hygiene items to send to Haiti. They filled 100 boxes today! Thanks also to Anne Haffey for sponsoring this club and giving them the support to do great things!

CTE provided an opportunity to Owen Students to investigate careers in early childhood development. Caitlin Johnson, ECE Workforce Coordinator presented opportunities for internship and field trip investigations for students. Twenty students took advantage of this program during their SMART lunch.

GOING ON NOW!!! Goodwill Trailer Fundraiser - Nov 2nd-15th PTO continues the tradition of the Goodwill Trailer Fundraiser which will run from Nov 2nd-15th. The trailer will be parked at the lower student lot close to the gatehouse, and your gently used donations can be dropped off Mon-Fri between 7:15am-7:45pm. The school earns funds per pound of donated items, which will be used for school projects. This is a great opportunity to clean out before the holidays and donate your used items to a great cause! The Buncombe County Board of Education will meet in regular session on November 2, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the Minitorium at 175 Bingham Road, Asheville. **Public Comment will be accepted in person. Members of the public wishing to speak will need to come to Entrance “B”. Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. and speakers must arrive no later than 5:15 p.m. to complete entrance screening procedures and sign in to speak.
