Owen JROTC has worked with purpose and diligence this year to remember the graduates who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Students have researched each of the fallen named at our memorial. They are Wendell L. Brown, USAF, Donald W. Wright, USMC, Wesley E. Melton, USA, H. Coleman Wright, Jr., USMC, J. Bruce Harris, USA, Bruce Elkins, USA, J. Onley Weaver, USMC, John W. Hansard, III, USMC, Billy G. Stewart, USMC, Ronald L. Hurst, USA. Each of the names was called today at a service reminding us that our local families and friends have cherished loved ones that are impacted by the service of those in our military. Owen JROTC would appreciate learning more about the servicemen if your families have information to share. Dr. Sircey and Remy Sellers placed a wreath of flowers at the memorial in keeping with the original traditions of Decoration Day which later became Memorial Day. #elevate!
