You’ll find students hitting all the right notes in band rooms across the Buncombe County Schools system. When you bring them all together in one spot, you get a musical supergroup that fills the stage with magnificent melodies in a powerful, pitch-perfect performance.
On Nov. 20, the BCS All-County Band united musicians to collaborate with each other as they learned from guest clinicians. The two day event culminated in a series of concerts at North Buncombe High School Thursday evening. The All-County Middle School Band opened the evening, followed by the 9th and 10th grade high school band. Junior and senior student musicians closed out the evening.
“It’s something special when we can bring our students and teachers together like this,” said BCS District Arts Specialist Jaime Graeber. “When you hear the final performances, it’s amazing to think they’ve made this happen after working together with our guest clinicians for just two days.”
Students earned their spots in the All-County Band earlier this month, during auditions at Enka High School.
