Teacher Biography

Time flies!! This is the beginning of my third year teaching at Owen High School!

Prior to teaching I was employed in the civil engineering profession for some 30 years. I earned my associates degree at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. From there I accumulated many course hours and certifications in land development and architecture. I started my career as a drafter, then worked my way up through the ranks to a senior designer then project manager. My career path has exposed me to just about all engineering/architectural disciplines. This experience is woven into my courses to provide relevance.

I grew up in Miami, Florida. When I was 10 years old my parents sent me to a local summer camp. I have since considered the mountains my home. Believe it or not, I used to race BMX and could be found jumping over ramps in my neighborhood...I can't do an ollie but I every now and then I like to ride my longboard.

Being outside, whether running, hiking, or backpacking in the mountains of Western North Carolina is a must for me. Also, when I get the chance I love to fish in the waters off the coast of South Florida. Pretty much, if its outside, I'm there!!

I'm looking forward to having you in my class!
