Animal Science I Course

We will be using Canvas for the course throughout the semester. It will be the same if you are remote or face-to-face. I will do my best to keep us all on the same page.

Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce students to the broad field of Animal Science.  Emphasis is placed on various areas of poultry and livestock management.  This course provides instruction focused on the basic scientific principles and processes that are involved in animal physiology, breeding, nutrition, and care in preparation for an animal science career. The course will be carried out through classroom instruction, lab activities, guest speakers, and field trips when possible.  Additionally, as FFA members, they will have the opportunity to travel, participate in competitive events, community projects, and recreational activities.

Syllabus

Unfortunately, we do not have any animals on campus currently. When we are more in a "normal" routine with school, my hope is to return to classroom pets and livestock. We have had in the past: sheep, goats, laying hens, broilers, hamsters, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and rabbits. Sorry no snakes! I prefer the furry animals :)
