Who is Mrs. Hite?
Hello! I grew up in Millville, Pennsylvania on a small hobby farm. I've
always had an interest in the agricultural sciences. The 4-H Livestock
Club in my county was a huge factor in sparking my interests for the
animal sciences. I've shown market lambs, goats and hogs since the age
of 8 and enjoy helping FFA members now who are interested in showing at
the Mountain State Fair. I was in FFA in high school and competed in the
Floriculture Career Development Event placing 3rd in the state and
advancing to Nationals.
Majoring in Animal Science, I attended the University of Wyoming.
However, sophomore year, I switched majors to Agriculture Education.
Meeting my future husband one summer in Pennsylvania, I decided to move
back home and attend The Pennsylvania State University. I graduated with
a Bachelor's degree in Ag Ed and a minor in Horticulture.
My husband, Zach and I moved to Anson county NC in 2013 teaching for 2.5
years at Anson High School. I have been teaching at Owen since January 2016. We have two children, Blake (2.5) and Levi (11 mo.)
I love spending time with my family and cooking and baking. If I have free time, I’m usually found in the kitchen! Blake enjoys helping taste test which makes it even more fun.
