This is my second year as part of the Exceptional Children Department at Owen
High School and my 14th year of teaching. Owen is a great place and the EC staff is dedicated and diligent.
I believe in challenging students and stretching
their abilities, all the while giving them the support and scaffolding
they need. It is my goal to teach every one of my students how to think - not what to think.
Previously, I was in the EC department of Asheville High
School and the Coordinator for the Alternative Learning Program for
Asheville City Schools. Prior to that, I was an EC teacher in McDowell
County Schools for 10 years, working in elementary, high school, and
behavior support.
