Course Overview
Welcome to Health & Physical Education!!
 
The first week of classes we will do introductory activities in Health and PE, followed by fitness testing.  Fitness Testing is important to do at the beginning and end of each semester to set realistic goals and measure student growth.
 
Throughout the semester we will cover many topics relating to Health and Physical Education.  Below I have listed some of the potential topics we will cover.
 
Physical Education:  Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Football, Handball, Aerobics, Running, Badminton, Ping Pong, Disc Golf, Weight-training.
 
Health:  Mental/Emotional Health, Physical Health, Family Life Education, Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Fitness, Diseases, Nutrition.
 
Welcome to Advanced Fitness!!
This class is focused on building Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance,
Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, and improving Body Composition.  We also work to develop Fitness Skills such as coordination, balance, speed, agility, etc.

We utilize the weight room and fitness lab about 4 times per week.  We will also be running a couple times a week.  Our goal is to be able to complete a 5k by the end of the semester.
